With a commercial development arm Koundouris Group is now looking to develop two new sites in Sutherland and Sans Souci in Sydney’s southern shire district. Both sites will involve major construction projects due to commence in 2009. Sans Souci will incorporate two floors of office space that will sit above the supermarket trading floor, as well as cafes and other retail outlets making up the retail mix.

“The goal is to double store numbers every three years” and to do this comfortably is Theo’s aim for the expansion process for Supabarn in years to come. All viable locations and going concerns are constantly being reviewed across the eastern seaboard as the search for the next Supabarn store continues.

“Each and every store must be successful and profitable in its own right” says Theo, as he doesn’t believe in expanding at the expense of profits. “We are careful in researching the viability of each and every opportunity to ensure we don’t get stuck with a lemon - pardon the pun” says Theo.
